A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR: "Fordsville is a small town located on Hwy 54 about 25 miles East of Owensboro. We are blessed with National Office Furniture and Dunaway Timber Company who provide many of our residents with employment. Fordsville Elementary School provides education for our youngsters. Fordsville Nursing and Rehab furnishes services for the elderly. Fordsville Area Clinic and Rice’s Drugs tends to the medical needs our community. There are several eating facilities available such as The Diner, Mom’s Kitchen and Sawmill Pizza carryout.

Our main tourist attraction is the Historical L & N Railroad Depot Museum with many interesting articles and displays. We’re fortunate to have various locally owned small businesses, Churches and service organizations who work together to make our town a better place to live. Many of our residents and individual businesses volunteer their time and resources to help all of us have a good life. We are proud of our town".

MORE ON MAYOR JOAN EDGE:  Joan Edge became Mayor of Fordsville in 2015.  Prior to her election Mrs. Edge served on the City Council. Both Joan and her late husband Jack were longtime Fordsville Merchants and very instrumental in the development and building of the Fordsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Jack and Joan Edge Community Center. Jack Edge also served as Mayor from 1997 until his death in 2004.

April started as a part-time assistant in June 2012 and was promoted to full time City Clerk in January 2015.  A few of her many duties include the following:

  • Billing and Collecting City Water Bills and Taxes
  • New Meter Installations and Services
  • Preparing and maintaining the Minutes of governing board meetings
  • Maintain City Ordinance documents
  • Custodian of all municipal records including Financial, personnel, and tax records
